I notice the mood first: soft light, a good scent, and a room that makes talking feel easy. I like a well-chosen table, a gallery, or a new corner of town with more to discover. I like getting ready with a sense of occasion, but never to the point where it feels like work. I bring a gentle energy, though I’m not as delicate as I may seem at first. I enjoy my own rhythm and I’m drawn to people who have one of their own. I know enough to feel comfortable and not so much that the evening has nowhere left to go.
