Some of the best conversations begin quietly, without either person trying too hard to make an impression. I prefer kindness with a little strength behind it. I’m drawn to calm rooms, good books, and conversations that arrive slowly. I have a soft spot for places that make people stay longer than planned. That is probably enough of an introduction. The rest is better discovered in person. I prefer chemistry that is felt rather than announced. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself. I prefer a little breathing room in the schedule. rushing hides the interesting parts. The atmosphere should support the people in it. I like leaving some room around the plan. That sort of ease is hard to fake.
