There is something about a slow evening and an unforced conversation that brings out the best in me. A loose plan makes me comfortable; a better idea is always welcome. I notice style, but I’m more interested in the ease and confidence that make it personal. I like the first decision to be made and the next few to stay negotiable. I tend to remember the small details people mention and return to them when the timing feels right. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself. The rest is simple: good energy, mutual respect, and a reason to stay for one more conversation. I do have a habit of choosing the slower route when there is no reason to hurry. Good timing usually matters more than decoration. I notice when a place feels personally chosen.
