I know what I like: good manners, a sense of humour, and an evening that does not need to be rushed. I’m curious about ideas, but I like them best when they connect back to real life. The best experiences have a little planning behind them and very little pressure attached. I like the moment a sensible evening develops a better idea. A plan is useful, but I’m not attached to it once a better idea appears. The best atmosphere lets a pause feel natural and a change of subject feel welcome. I’m quite good at looking composed while quietly deciding what we should order. The rest is simple: good energy, mutual respect, and a reason to stay for one more conversation. That sort of ease is hard to fake. I like leaving some room around the plan.
