Give me an unhurried table, a cold drink, and someone who knows how to enjoy the moment. I have a soft spot for places that make people stay longer than planned. I like directness with warmth; honesty is easier to enjoy that way. Ease matters to me; the best company lets a conversation move without pushing it. Energy matters to me, but so does recovery and a relaxed finish. I like momentum, but I know when an evening is asking for a slower pace. Ultimately, I’m looking for ease, interest, and the feeling that the evening was time well spent. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself. A little character goes a long way with me. I like leaving some room around the plan.
