Some of the best conversations begin quietly, without either person trying too hard to make an impression. I tend to reveal myself in layers; the interesting parts rarely arrive in the first minute. I notice style, but I’m more interested in the ease and confidence that make it personal. Energy matters to me, but so does recovery and a relaxed finish. I bring a soft energy, with enough independence to keep it from feeling careful. I’m usually calm, although I have opinions about badly timed interruptions. I’m comfortable with an active plan, a last-minute change, or a quiet finish.
