I should probably admit that I can turn choosing a restaurant into a small research project, then change my mind. I like having something to work towards, while remembering that pleasure belongs in a good life too. I like getting ready with a sense of occasion, but never to the point where it feels like work. I appreciate composure, good taste, and the details that make an experience feel considered. I like people with direction and a sense of proportion. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself.
