A change of scenery is lovely, but the person beside you is what gives it meaning. I enjoy shared plates. a lively room. and making space for a quieter voice too. I’m happy with a plan that leaves room for an extra drink or a change of setting. I like beautiful details, provided the people remain more interesting than the setting. I like structure when it creates freedom. not when it turns an evening into a checklist. The best atmosphere lets a pause feel natural and a change of subject feel welcome. The best encounters gather detail, warmth, and meaning almost without asking to be noticed. I sometimes overthink a small choice and then make an impulsive one five minutes later.
