Give me a good table, an interesting person, and enough time for the evening to develop without instructions. I like good company. sensible plans. and the freedom to laugh when details change. I like getting ready with a sense of occasion, but never to the point where it feels like work. I enjoy a room with life in it and the easy spark that appears when people feel included. I like the moment a sensible evening develops a better idea. I like clear arrangements and an uncomplicated attitude when something changes. I appreciate confidence that knows how to soften and curiosity that does not feel like an interrogation. The best encounters gather detail. warmth. and meaning almost without asking to be noticed. I like leaving some room around the plan. A little character goes a long way with me. That sort of ease is hard to fake.
