My favourite evenings begin without a rush: something good to eat, a little music, and a conversation with its own rhythm. A change of scenery helps me reset, even when the destination is only a different neighbourhood. I like getting ready with a sense of occasion, but never to the point where it feels like work. I like directness with warmth; honesty is easier to enjoy that way.
