There is no big performance here; I value warmth, presence, and an easy exchange. A loose plan makes me comfortable; a better idea is always welcome. I enjoy a considered look and a relaxed manner, especially when neither one does all the talking. I’m organised enough to create ease and spontaneous enough to follow a better offer. I’m happiest when there is a plan for the beginning and freedom to ignore it later. The best atmosphere lets a pause feel natural and a change of subject feel welcome. Ultimately, I’m looking for ease, interest, and the feeling that the evening was time well spent. I sometimes overthink a small choice and then make an impulsive one five minutes later.
