A quiet table, an exchanged smile, and a conversation that outlasts the first drink is my kind of beginning. I like energy, movement, and the satisfying calm that follows a day well used. I notice when someone needs a gentler pace, a better question, or a little more time. For me, comfort comes from good manners, a little laughter, and an evening that can take care of itself. I like having something to work towards, while remembering that pleasure belongs in a good life too. I like an evening that feels deliberate, then becomes more relaxed as it goes. I do have a habit of choosing the slower route when there is no reason to hurry. What matters most is the atmosphere we create together: attentive, unhurried, and quietly alive. I like leaving some room around the plan. That sort of ease is hard to fake.
