If we meet, bring your real conversation; I’m much more interested in that than a perfect performance. I’ve learned to value calm confidence, good timing, and people who mean what they say. I like the moment a sensible evening develops a better idea. I’m drawn to calm rooms, good books, and conversations that arrive slowly. I prefer a little breathing room in the schedule; rushing hides the interesting parts. I like the feeling of somewhere slightly unfamiliar, even when the setting is close to home. I appreciate confidence that knows how to soften and curiosity that does not feel like an interrogation. I have a soft spot for places that make people stay longer than planned. I’m not sure a paragraph can say much more; a good conversation usually does the job better.
