I know what I like: good manners, a sense of humour, and an evening that does not need to be rushed. I’m happiest when a sensible plan leaves room for a better impulse. A good connection gives both people room to be fully themselves. I tend to notice the best corner of a room before I notice where everyone else has sat down. I like the kind of evening that leaves no grand conclusion, only the sense that something worth keeping has begun. A quick mind is attractive to me when it comes with warmth rather than the need to win. I like meetings that feel attentive without becoming intense, with space for both people to settle in. A good beginning gives me freedom rather than rules. A little character goes a long way with me. I notice when a place feels personally chosen.
